Year 7 Camp 2024

Three days of adventure

成人抖音鈥檚 youngest cohort spent three days along Sydney鈥檚 Northern Beaches for the Year 7 Camp in Week 19 of Semester 1.

Students attended the camp in two groups, with Gurabang and Ngadyung Houses attending from Monday to Wednesday, and Mindygari and Meup Meup Houses attending from Wednesday to Friday.

Held at the Salvation Army鈥檚 Collaroy Centre, the camp included a range of physical and mental challenges, which gave them the opportunity to work on their teamwork, confidence, leadership, and friendships. These activities included vertical challenges, high ropes, the giant swing, archery, and much more.

The College thanks the staff of the Collaroy Centre for their support, as well as the teachers who supervised and participated in the experience.

Noah Tapp of Year 7, who attended the second camp, compiled the following report:

Year 7 Camp was an incredible experience filled with lots of fun challenges. We started the journey on the bus, where we got to sit with our friends and have lots of fun as we travelled to Sydney. We stopped at Sutton Forest to have something to eat and stretch our legs. After a four-hour drive, we arrived at Collaroy. Some of the activities on offer over the three days were the giant swing, drop pole, a high ropes course, bubble soccer, abseiling, laser tag, rock climbing, archery, team challenges, orienteering and a vertical challenge course. On the first night, some of us got to watch the State of Origin with the Blues having a great win against the Maroons. On the second night, some students got to watch a movie and the rest participated in a games night which was lots of fun! We all had such an amazing time, and we will never forget this wonderful experience. We had to challenge ourselves and overcome some fears, but we faced them with courage along with the support of our friends and peers.
